WHAT WE HAVE IN PLACE FOR LOAD SHEDDING / POWER CUTS IN SA


The villa is equipped with a full powered back-up system which powers all the wall sockets, Wi-Fi, Alarm, Lights, Geysers & Appliance and lift. Also note the cooker (stove) and BBQ is gas operated, hence you would still be able to enjoy your stay comfortably, regardless of power cuts imposed by Eskom.

CANCELLATIONS:


There will be cancellation exemptions made due to COVID - Should you present with a positive Covid test (proof required) within 48 hours prior to your check-in date or a Lockdown status change, we will provide a credit of your booking to use within 18 months from the date of your arrival. Rates may vary subject to seasonality (time of the year).



REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT


We will also require a refundable breakage deposit of R15 000 to be paid via Airbnb prior to check-in/upon check-in. This will be refunded on the day of check-out if no damages are found. If damages are found the relevant charges will be applied.

ALARM


To set alarm: on leaving house once doors are closed & locked, press blue button on key fob – blue alarm light next to the front door comes on at which point there is a 1-minute window to leave before the alarm is triggered. To switch off alarm: push blue button on key fob once back outside the front door (DO NOT OPEN FRONT DOOR BEFORE TURNING OFF ALARM OR THE ALARM WILL BE TRIGGERED). There are international plugs plus additional adapters in the TV lounge cupboard (next to kitchen).

There is a safe in each bedroom with operating instructions by the unit.



HAIRDRYERS


Hairdryers are in the cupboard of each bedroom.

Babysitting can be arranged by prior notice with Lavinia and Gloria.



HEATING


There is an underfloor heating dial in the master bedroom which also heats the bathroom floor. All air conditioning units are also equipped with a heating option. Please do not leave doors & windows open when using the AC unit.



SWIMMING POOL


The swimming pool is heated and is used at your own risk, towels are available in the pool lounge. Children under the age of 12 years old must be supervised at all times.



HOUSEKEEPING AND HOUSE STEWARD


Housekeeping (Gloria) and House Steward (Matthews) are at the villa from Monday to Friday 09.00 – 16.00 and Saturday morning 09.00 – 12.00.



LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING


• There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room. We offer one complimentary load of laundry on the second day of your stay. Please liaise with Christine as Sandpiper can take no responsibility for damage to clothes laundered by us. Linen and towels are changed every third day.


• For any additional washing & ironing undertaken by Christine (after the second day of your stay), an additional cost of R100/load will apply – this is to be paid to Lavinia.

SMOKING


Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors and on balconies. Failure to comply may result in charges being incurred by the tenant to remove smoke odour from the property. If you wish to smoke in the garden there are ashtrays in the utility room (pls ask housekeeper, Gloria).



ANIMALS


Animals are not permitted anywhere on the premises at any time.



WATER


South African tap water meets the world health standard and is safe to drink.

Banks and foreign exchange desks can be found in the Waterfront, Sea Point and city centre

While most mean well, unofficial car guards are contravening the law so there is no strict obligation to give any money to a car guard (the usual amount being R5 - R10). In the city centre and certain areas the council charges for parking and the official will issue you with a receipt for your parking.
